This is Una Solitaire.
Una Solitaire is a proud actress, model, and exotic dancer.
She was born in DC, but moved to Oregon at a very young age. She never left, in love with the region’s lush and temperate environment. She loves the raw creativity of Portland and would rather be here than in the rat race of LA. She started acting in summer camps all the way up through high school. “I got discouraged with acting at the end of high school,” she recounts, “because I wanted to be Sigourney Weaver in Aliens but didn’t want to wade through all the ‘bullshit dumb girl’ parts to get there.” She turned to dance in college while studying Philosophy at University of Oregon, in which she now holds a Bachelor’s Degree.
With a new passion for dance and a disdain for being clothed in general, Una started stripping in the clubs of Eugene and Springfield. “I genuinely love to be naked and dance on stage,” Una asserts, “Stripping seemed like the perfect fit, and ten years later I’m still in love with the profession.”
She discovered Portland’s Kit Kat Club 3 years later, and discovered that its combination of strip club and show club was exactly where she belonged. While at Kit Kat she met filmmaker Richie Stratton and ended up landing a lead role in the short film “Looked After,” for which she won Best Actress at Guignolfest, Portland’s horror film festival.
She continues her work at Kit Kat and other Portland stripping institutions. Una loves being in the quote-un-quote “sex industry” and participating in the erotic arts.
“Sexual expression is important to humanity,” Una says, “We need places where sexuality can be expressed and boundaries can be respected. One of the biggest misunderstandings that people have about sex work is that sex workers lack boundaries, which is what allows them to be sex workers. The opposite is actually true. Flirting is about respecting boundaries. It’s about being able to have a boner in the presence of a beautiful woman, who acknowledges your sexuality, and being able to make it lighthearted and fun. Many don’t understand that deep connections are possible in private dances, even if you know nothing about that person and there are no words or physical contact. When respect is there, souls can meet first, and intercourse is not required to have that soul connection.”
That is the experience that Una is all about. She also believes that this sort of connection can be achieved through erotic art—which is why she loves creating it!
